identify the chondrocytes in the lacunae.
The cell has a densely stained nucleus. The cytoplasm has shrunken away
from the lacunar margin. Examine the intercellular matrix.
Is the staining uniform throughout? Do you see fibres in it? What type
of fibres do you expect to find in the matrix?
Differentiate the two layers of the covering perichondrium.
